SUZUKI RM250 FEATURES

  • 249cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine is designed compact and lightweight with a bore and stroke of 77.0mm x 53.6mm and Compression Ratio of 13.4:1.
  • Compact combustion chamber for efficiency, while the oversquare bore and stroke allows for larger valve diameters.
  • Hollow camshafts are lightweight and strong.
  • Both the exhaust and intake cams are machined from lightweight forged-steel billets and are surface-treated to increase durability.
  • The cylinder head operates with a bucket and shim setup for easy adjustability and performance in extreme conditions.
  • Lightweight aluminum cylinder with Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) coating to improve heat transfer and durability and weight reduction.
  • Suzuki Advanced Sump System (SASS) allows the mass of the engine to sit as low to the ground as possible and provide more stable feeing in corners.
  • SASS divides the crankcases into two separate compartments, one for the crankshaft and the other for the ultra-compact transmission, to keep everything compact and keep the engine as short as possible.
  • Line-style shifting system allows the rider to better "tune in" to the transmission and allows for better shifting of the transmission.
  • Easy to maintain oil strainer thanks to an externally accessible design.
  • Both the top and bottom clamps for more stable handling, especially under braking conditions.
  • Rigid twin-spar aluminum frames are built with the proper amount of flex and rigidity balance. That translates into stability on the straights and cornering performance.
  • Forged head pipe and lower body members are constructed for strength and durability.
  • The SHOWA front forks, the same as the forks on the RM-Z450, are optimized for better cornering performance and straight-line stability.
  • Rear shock absorber suspension offers better performance and is valved and setup for cornering performance and stability through the bumps.
  • Renthal handlebars featuring tapered bars that are secured by an aluminum steering stem nut with rubber mounts.
  • Each side of the seat has textured surface for good knee gripping.
